With the introduction of the RM 005, automatic timepiece, in 2004 and this model being one of the first global successes of the brand, on a global scale. By 2006, market tastes were already turning to larger case sizes, which led to the creation of the RM 010, such as this beautiful example we present to you here. This watch measures 48 mm x 39.30 mm x 13.84 mm. Mechanically, the gear train remained identical but with a higher level of skeletonisation for the baseplate and bridges. The RM010 is water-resistant to 50 metres. As Richard Mille himself once stated, "The RM 010 is the incarnation of what a non-tourbillon wristwatch should be according to Richard Mille’s vision."

6238 with black printing on a silver surface is nice, but nothing special; if you turn it around however, you have something very coveted: A rare, very sought-after and historically important model; being the father of the Rolex Cosmograph Daytona as we know it today. The reference 6238 belongs to the the last line of watches that didn’t bear a model name on the dial. However, it’s known among collectors and aficionados as the ‘Pre-Daytona’; albeit this reference being in production alongside the 6239. This 36mm measuring timepiece has a lot to offer; both aesthetically and mechanically. It is powered by a celebrated Valjoux caliber, housed in a sleek Oyster case with round pump-pushers. The slightly domed, smooth bezel gives it a pleasant sophistication, unknown to most toolwatches. The monochrome dial is unostentatious and pragmatism seems paramount, unlike the less comprehensible and more crowded dial design of most earlier Rolex chronographs. These 60's chronographs without the tachymeter scale on the bezel, always flew a bit under the radar. In terms of collectability, most attention goes out to the well-known and often studied Cosmograph Daytona. But there is a huge exception: the black dialled versions. Only a couple thousand 6238's have ever been produced, but the lion share of that small number (most likely over 95%) feature a light coloured dial. We are thrilled to showcase this incredible example that provides a perfect balance between austerity and elegance. The "-T SWISS T-" dial has silver printing, complementing the material of the case and bracelet. The dark surface shows some small blemishes, barely visible with the naked eye, and not taking away any of the charm. The correct small minute hand is mounted and the original thin register hands are too. The white lacquer on these, including the arrow of the second counter, is still perfect. The case is well-preserved and the riveted Oyster bracelet is ready to be worn for decades to come. Opportunities to own a "Black night" don't come around very often so make sure not to sleep on this chance.

Rolex Chronograph 6238 'Pre-Daytona'

We're not going to bore you with the cliché; “Think of the watch that a president would wear…” story. We want you to think about Tony Soprano's watch. A watch that conveys status. A watch that commands respects. A watch that oozes luxury. The Rolex Day-Date is a true pioneer: the first automatic, waterproof, chronometer wristwatch that indicated both the date and day of the week. The 182xx series, introduced in 1988, is the fifth generation of Day-Dates. This ref. 18238 dates back to 1996 and features the updated caliber 3155 automatic movement with the convenient double-quickset function to separately adjust the day and date discs. The 36 mm case is executed in 18k yellow-gold and is in excellent condition. The iconic President bracelet with hidden folding clasp is in great condition as well. The star of the show, of course, is the dial. The Myriad dial adds a subtle and refined outer ring of factory set diamonds complimented with roman numerals.

This reference 1803 is beautiful in every sense of the word. However, la crème de la crème is the beautiful blue sigma dial complimented with brilliant-cut diamonds with baguettes on the 6 and 9 o'clock. It is an anomaly for this watch to bear hands with lume as the dial is non-luminescent. This Rolex Day-Date dates back to 1969 and is powered by calibre 1556. We can't stress enough, the impeccable condition this case is in as it remains unpolished. We are crazy about the four-digit Day-Date references and we particularly like them when they come as vintage as possible. The classic characteristics we love are the pie pan dial and the plexi crystal. This watch comes on an 18k white-gold President bracelet with the classic folding clasp which is perfect for your 4-digit Day-Date.

There’s one grand complication to rule them all, the perpetual calendar chronograph, and Patek Philippe is the king when it comes to making them. The reference 3970 was introduced in 1986 as the successor to the legendary and ultra-collectible reference 2499 perpetual calendar chronograph. This ref. 3970EP (E = étanche, which means waterproof in French; P = platinum) dates back to 1996. The watch features a 36 mm 950 platinum case with lovely pump pushers and a sapphire see-through case back through which the exquisitely hand finished manual-winding movement can be viewed. The beautiful opaline silver dial sports pointed stick indexes and matching pointed stick hands. Two apertures at the 12 o’clock position reveal the day and month mechanism. The dial features three sub-dials. The recessed sub-dial at the 9 o’clock position displays a running seconds as well as a 24-hour hand while the recessed sub-dial at the 3-hour position incorporates a 30-minute chronograph counter and a leap year indicator. Finally on the lower sub-dial we find a charming moon phase indicator, which is surrounded by a date complication. The watch comes on a black alligator leather strap with a platinum Patek Philippe deployant clasp and an Extract From The Archives. Next to that there is a platinum caseback that can be put on during service, which is included as well.

Nothing quite beats a 4-digit Day-Date in yellow gold. Let alone one with a red, cherry colored, Stella dial. During the 1970s and 1980s Rolex offered brightly colored lacquered dials, nicknamed ‘stella’ by Italian collectors, as an option for the Day-Date. This option wasn’t particularly popular. After all, you had to be a gentleman (or lady) of considerable means to be able to afford a Day-Date and it was unlikely that a person of that stature would rock a gold watch with such a loud, dare we say gaudy, dial. As a result, stella dial Day-Dates are very collectible nowadays. This red-colored dial on this ref. 1803 changes colors in every light and and is in perfect harmony with its 18k yellow gold applied indices. The watch comes in the classic Day-Date packaging: a 36 mm 18k yellow gold case with matching fluted bezel and an 18k yellow gold President bracelet. The watch houses Rolex’ caliber 1570 self-winding movement. The watch is in great condition, with a sharp case and tight President bracelet.

Rolex Day-Date 1804 from 1970 in white gold with factory set diamond dial and bezel. Most notable on this watch of course is the dial. This lacquered "pie-pan", referred to as "Stella-dial", has a truly unique colour. These uncommon dials are very sought-after by the seasoned collectors and this bright red to orange execution is extremely rare. By the looks of it you can already guess it was purchased by a special gentleman, almost 50 years ago. This is not an everyday watch and this reflects in the immaculate condition; strong case with thick lugs plus virtually stretch-free President bracelet.

The watch comes in the classic Day-Date packaging: a 36 mm 18k white gold case with matching fluted bezel and an 18k white gold President bracelet. The 18039 houses Rolex’ caliber 3055 self-winding movement with a single-quickset function, allowing for the independent adjustment of the date disc. The watch is in great condition, with a sharp case and tight President bracelet. However, you should know that the lacquer on the dial displays some cracking.

A very clean and sharp Rolex Day-Date reference 1803 from 1969. This watch has a 'no lume' dial, which means that - despite the T Swiss T signing below the 6-hour position - the dial and hands don't contain tritium. Back in the day, many Asian countries had import restriction regarding luminescent material (since it's slightly radioactive). This example was made for the Japanese market, as is evidenced by its bracelet which bears a 'Made in Japan' signature in the clasp. Because many countries had heavy import taxes on gold, Rolex often chose to produce the cases and movements in Switzerland but the bracelets locally.

This reference 1803 is beautiful in every sense of the word. However, la crème de la crème are the claw marker indices. This Rolex Day-Date dates back to 1960 and is powered by calibre 1556. We are crazy about the four-digit Day-Date references and we particularly like them when they come as vintage as possible. The classic characteristics we love are the pie pan dial and the plexi crystal. This watch comes on an 18k yellow-gold President bracelet with a 'Big Logo' folding clasp. We know that you guys - just like us - are crazy about the concealed clasp. However, on the 4-digit Day-Date references we think that the classic folding clasp looks best.

A very shiny Rolex Day-Date from 1991! This watch carries reference 18388, which means it has a factory-set diamond bezel and lugs. If that's not enough, the President bracelet is factory-set with diamonds on the centre links. To top it off, the black dial has a diamond index.

From a collector's perspective we can definitely call this the Sultan of Daytona's. With only three pieces that have surfaced the market so far, this is one of the rarest Daytona's out there. Made in the year 1974 as a special order for his majesty the late Qaboos Bin Said Al Said, the Sultan of Oman, the dial bears his inscription. From the three known, one remains in one of the most prominent Rolex collections in the world, one got auctioned by Christies in 2013 (for a whopping $825,000) and this is the third one. The watch comes with the presentation box that bears the Oman national emblem.
